I am here with the lovely Kyma Lassiter, the Constituent Affairs Liaison for the North Carolina African American Heritage Commission. For the commission’s August brunch during the Nina Simone weekend, she invited me to share my 2018 experience of singing on Nina Simone’s childhood porch when it was designated a national treasure.
